McCoy’s Orchard – Peaches

Our peaches have been a specialty in Bedford County since the very beginning. Many of our customers have been with us since the start and every year they continue to come back for “the best peaches around!” The beautiful peach blossom starts to bloom around April and makes its debut of a juicy, picture perfect peach usually around the end of July. Each peach is carefully hand harvested and sorted to ensure the quality you deserve. The rich soil in our orchard is known to produce some of the best tasting peaches for miles. We offer a variety of cling free and donut peaches in both yellow and fresh white flesh. If you haven’t tried our donut peaches – you are missing out – they are as sweet as honey and they sell out FAST!

Varieties of Peaches

	Donut Peaches -Super sweet with white flesh, cling free. Also called UFO, Saturn, Flying Saucer or Flat. -Great for a summer snack! Available: Early August			Saturn – White Flat Peach -Saturn peaches are flatter than fruit of more popular peach varieties. -Saturn peaches are usually sweeter than other peaches, but still have a recognizable peach taste. Available: Middle of August
	BuenOs – Yellow Flat Peach -This is an outstanding yellow-fleshed flat peach with excellent size and firmness. -Nice spicy flavor. Available: First of August			Red Heaven -Luscious, top-quality fruit is great as a fresh snack or for canning and freezing. -Creamy textured yellow flesh. Available: First of August
	Salem -Sweet, yellow flesh. Free stone. -Excellent for eating, canning, and all culinary uses. Available: Early August			Sun Hi -Sweet, yellow flesh. Free stone. -Excellent for eating, canning, and all culinary uses. Available: August
	Loring -Sweet, yellow flesh. Free stone. -Excellent for eating, canning, and all culinary uses. Available: August			Contender -Considered the most flavorful, fresh eating peach. -The Taste of a True Champion. Available: Last of August
	Messina -Nearly full red blush, firm to very firm, freestone. -Very good flavor. Available: Last of August and First of September
